C-IED Operators Courses
Three courses designed to train and develop an IED team. This presupposes the IED team consists of 2-3 people, though this is easily modified to suit local customs and requirements.
Operators should be introduced to each course consecutively and ideally with a period of practical experience in their operational units before attending the next advanced course.
Students may also be selected to attend equipment and explosives preparation and IED operator support only if required (the basic course). Experience has shown that this is often suitable for junior soldiers who have yet to gain sufficient leadership skills to act as an effective lead IED operator.
