Basic C-IED Course
A 2 week course designed to introduce the concept of C-IED, an understanding of the threat, basic C-IED concepts, understanding and using the equipment. The course will be roughly half in a teaching environment and half outdoor practical training. The course is delivered in the UK. If preferred, training can be delivered in the host nation or at commercial centres. In this case we will assume that equipment will be made available to the instructors; there will be access to a suitable training area and to a small scale explosives demolition range (5kg limit).
Equipment can be provided to a clients location at a commercial charge that will include shipping. In this case, the client will be responsible for gaining import and export licences and facilitating customs clearance. The course will include equipment management and operation, safety skills, basic remote disposal techniques and some basic manual techniques. It is designed to take individuals with a suitable background (to be discussed) from zero prior knowledge to a level where they can operate the equipment and function as a basic C-IED Operator's assistant. The course will be assessed by written, oral and practical testing.
